Dear colleagues,
In all areas of emergency and intensive care medicine, ultrasound diagnostics has gained central importance in order to make everyday decisions more purposeful and faster. Taking this into account, the Working Group Emergency Sonography (DEGUM, SGUM, ÖGUM) has developed a curriculum for a 3-country basic training in emergency sonography.
In this course, we provide hands-on ultrasound training focused on emergency situations. It serves as a basic course for all ultrasound beginners, even without any prior knowledge. Both parts of the course count towards the DEGUM certificate “Emergency Sonography”. You will be trained by highly experienced ultrasound operators from emergency departments, intensive care units, and prehospital care. Numerous practical exercises in small groups are designed to consolidate theoretical knowledge and put it into practice. Our tutors’ goal is not to pick up the ultrasound probe themselves, but to help you visualize the slice planes.
