Dear colleagues,
Resuscitation of patients in circulatory arrest is a core medical skill that virtually everyone relies on having. Despite intensive teaching in medical school, practical skills must be maintained through professional training and regular practice. In addition, the treatment of infants and children remains a special challenge even for experienced emergency physicians, as the situations are rare and of particular emotional hardship.
Successful resuscitation depends not only on individual technical skills but also on the ability to act and communicate as a team in a stressful situation. Simulating and practicing this situation in the course is an essential part of the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines courses. This also includes principles of a positive
Error culture instilled, which benefits patient safety overall.

All trainings are held with original materials in licensed German translation. This course, hosted by Charité, follows the AHA’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) concept based on the current (2020) guidelines and is intended for all clinicians who want to be prepared for pediatric emergencies. Paramedics* and nurses with several years of professional experience in emergency areas and a current BLS course (< 2 years) can also participate.
